It's a long-lasting debate, as the well-known higher education system reformation conundrum. Some voices claim that GPA is pointless, but they rarely come up with an alternative. As we know, critique is much easier to do than innovation. One project manager proposed a solution. He suggested using a thinking-process-centered filtering approach to seek the right talent. So that the employers can avoid the popular STAR method and its downsides (a.k.a The Ultimate Storytelling Competition). Hi everyone,  I have recently finished my course project written in Python + NEURON + NMODL. Since I had some trouble finding compiling instructions while I was working on it, I decided to make a short video walking through the entire process. And here is the video. Besides, one thing to keep in mind is that the compiling window may hide somewhere you cannot see if you have multiple monitors.  Happy simulation.

每天騎腳踏車上下班，三個月下來瘦了也黑了

春天到了。

購買 如果因為經濟因素考量沒辦法買車，或是因為通勤距離不算太長而不需要買車，都可以考慮一下買腳踏車，畢竟 AATA 真的滿爛的，不準時就算了，有時候往北還會標示往南，爛爆了。 至於購買腳踏車，請注意一個原則：You get what you pay for. 現實因素就是不太可能低價買到好腳踏車，而且我想這個道理應該不侷限於腳踏車。像是我以 100 美金的價格買了一台二手車，結果騎了四天之後就在上班的路上爆胎，要命的是附近又沒什麼公車站，就走了大概半小時才抵達公司。後來一查才發現腳踏車出廠已經十年，這之間內胎大概都沒換過，一段顛簸路面的小石頭就有可能讓你爆胎。我一個學長也是買二手車，騎了兩週之後也是爆胎。所以如果你因為預算的關係要買二手車，建議先換腳踏車的內胎，以免這種尷尬的事情發生。如果你預算足夠可以噴個兩三百塊美金買新車，那就不需要擔心這個原則。 另外，考量到冬天會下雪的因素，美國的馬路其實滿爛的，就算是 Ann Arbor Downtown 也是。這就會影響到你買的車種，像是我因為沒有經驗而買了一台公路車，結果後來幾次經過顛簸路面就後悔了，車震到讓你懷疑人生，雖然公路車飆起來高速可以跟旁邊的汽車差不多，但代價也不小。所以如果要騎乘的範圍比較大，道路狀況變化比較大，建議買比較通用型的車種，騎乘經驗會比較舒適一點。 維修 關於維修，如果你住在中校區，我推薦你去 The Local Bike Shop - A2。老闆 Brad 服務態度超級好，他那笑容就算是假裝出來的笑容我也感覺像是真的，服務價格透明的完全沒話說，價格真的很公道，前後兩條內胎加上工錢和稅金只要 24 .84 美金。雖然有人建議我自己買內胎回來換，但是因為我的車齡比較高，沒有快拆，整體而言算是比較麻煩，況且對於輪胎尺寸也不清楚，所以就直接給人家專業的處理，還免費幫我檢查外胎是否需要更換。 本文同步刊載於 MTSA生活資料庫 。

新潮髮廊 簡單一句話，除非你一定要找不用講英文的設計師，不然完全不推薦你去新潮髮廊。雖然 MTSA 會員可以享有折扣，但是理髮經驗非常糟，讓我想起當兵時幫忙剃頭的髮婆，動作非常粗魯，我都覺得頭被推破皮了。 Douglas J Aveda Institute 新潮髮廊旁邊的設計學院 Douglas J Aveda Institute 態度比他們好得多，雖然都是半師（還不是正式的設計師），但是目前兩次的經驗都不錯，洗加剪在出示 UMICH 學生證的狀況下是 14.4 美金，相比新潮髮廊的 15 美金，其實很划算。 Arcade Barbers 這裡會因為設計師的不同而收費不一，就算你剪的髮型都一樣。但是態度算是不錯，只是因為空間老舊所以有點味道。在我知道之後 Douglas J Aveda Institute 就再也沒有進去過這家了。 本文同步刊載於 MTSA生活資料庫 。

底特律老虎隊主場大門 學長你好： 我今年申請 BME + Bioinfo 混申，目前手上拿到  CMU、JHU、UMich、Virginia 的 BME，以及 Harvard 的 Bio-info 這幾個offer，我想從其中挑一間。所以想跟學長請教關於 UMich 的就讀情形。 我主要想知道的幾個問題是，請問 1. MS 有機會拿到獎學金嗎？或是第二年進實驗室拿 RA? 2.請問那邊的教授願意收 MS 嗎？ (我之前有被 UIUC 拒絕過，不過聽說 JHU 這部分是很願意的) 3.請問課程設計的扎實/水分程度 (我聽念 Harvard 跟 JHU 的學長都不慎滿意課程的設計) 4.一些生活狀況、開銷等等 ⇑以上是讀者提問⇑ ⇓以下是格主回答⇓ 首先恭喜你拿下這麼多的錄取， 真的非常優秀。 以下依序回答你的問題。 1. 有。 有一個 羅家倫獎學金 限定 台灣 人才能領， 金額是一萬 美 金， 每個工程學院的系所有二到三個名額。 其餘種類的獎學金當然 也是有， 不 過要認清楚的現實就是， 身為國際學生， 在 美國 申請獎學金就是吃虧一大截， 有名額基本上都是先給 美國 人， 不然就是直接限定 美國 公民或是永久居民才能申請。 進實驗室拿 RA 就是另外一條完全不一樣的拿補助方法。 能不能第一年進要看教授願不願意收（看他企劃多不多，補助多不多）。 但是我不清楚 BME 每個教授的狀況， 建議你可以聯絡自己有興趣的教授， 如果對方有興趣， 再看看下一步怎麼走吧！ 另外， 有聽說留學生為了搶實習做無償的研究助理， 為的就是履歷好看， 所以想當 RA 補貼生活開銷的話， 你可能要自己斟酌。 2. 第二個問題你要問的應該是指教授收不收碩士生當研究助理吧？ 教授收不收 碩士生當研究助理其實很難說 ， 因為每個教授的實驗室規模都不一樣， 經費和需要的研究助理名額也不一樣。 建議你還是像第一點一樣自己寄信去問教授會比問我實際。 3. 課程水不水其實見仁見智， 他說不水但是在你看來可能水， 反之亦然。 而且如果我說水或者是不水就會影響你的決定的話， 我可不敢擔此大任。 還是要由你自己去研究學程的課程規劃， 再決定這個學程學位適不適合你。 4....
